Season 2, Episode 7

Name That Terpene

We’re just beginning to understand terpenes in cannabis and the notion of using Sativa and Indica to describe how a cannabis strain affects you may be coming to an end. In the very near future, instead of asking your budtender for a Sativa or Indica product, you may be asking for cannabis which contains certain terpenes that work best for your medical condition.

My guest today is Kristen Yoder, featured in Forbes Magazine and named one of Marijuana Venture Magazine's “40 Under 40 Rising Stars of Cannabis.” Kristen is a 14-year Los Angeles cannabis industry veteran, strategic advisor and radio/podcast personality who has managed successful cannabis businesses in every sector. Kristen's popularity as an outspoken and trusted authority on a variety subjects has also led to her to teaching classes, speaking at events, and appearing in national and international print and online media stories. When she isn't sharing her fierce wit and sparkling personality on stage or on the air, Kristen advises and prepares her clients for the unique intricacies and quagmires often overlooked and unexpected by those entering the newly regulated cannabis landscape.

Season 2, Episode 6

The Nose Knows

We’ve all heard of Indica, Sativa, and Hybrids when talking about how a particular strain may affect you. But there’s another key ingredient called Terpenes. They are found in all plants and provide the plant’s aroma, its characteristics, and how are bodies react when consuming them. For the next few episodes, we’re exploring the role that terpenes play in medicinal cannabis.

Wesley Robins, sat down to with me to talk about terpenes. Wesley works at the Kannabis Works dispensary in Santa Ana, California. His title is Interpener, which means he helps patients, customers, and Kannabis Works staff better understand how terpenes affect cannabis strains.

Season 2 Ep. 5

Putting Patients First

There have been many changes in the cannabis market in California since adult-use of cannabis became legal in January 2018. While there have been many positive developments, legal cannabis prices have gone up, making it harder for some people to purchase cannabis in licensed dispensaries. As a result, the underground, illicit cannabis market in California is thriving, which is an unintended result of the adult-use legalization. Fortunately, one forward-thinking cannabis company is doing something about it for the medical cannabis community.

My guest is Kevin Bulbulyan, the CEO of Branded. Their ethos and company mission is to help patients keep their access to the high-quality, legal medicine they need. I spoke with Kevin at the Branded offices in North Hollywood, California.
